The Story: I
guess you could call Mananaran an epic journey set in the
distant past, combining the fantastic and the ordinary, the
depths of despair and the height of joy, a tale of the
lowliest beggars to the loftiest of kings in a saga of Homeric
proportions that spans the entirety of human emotions and
experiences and that reflects the eternal struggle of man. But
you could also say that about a bagel if you had enough time
to make up a story about it. So you can forget all that
existential stuff and just have fun reading the comic
misadventures of Nikko, Yoiko, and Proba, three girls running
away from a horrible life worshiping some Roman goddess; Gaius,
the misunderstood and overly spoiled son of the Emperor;
Strongus, a strong and attractive Roman army guy; and Heso, a
god formerly from up on Mt. Olympus before he got kicked out.
What will happen to these six intrepid
travelers on their trek through antiquity? Find out by reading
the stunning narrative of "Mananaran!"
